The Wembley area of London is famous principally for being the home of Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena. Known throughout the world as both a major football and entertainment venue, Wembley Stadium was rebuilt in the first decade of the 21st Century.
Opposite Wembley Stadium is Wembley Arena, which is an indoor venue famous for hosting pop concerts and sporting events. Swimming took place at the venue during the 1948 London Olympics.
The original Wembley Stadium was opened in 1923 and hosted that year’s FA Cup final between West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers. It was famously known as the White Horse final, because a white police horse called Billy was used to control the estimated 200,000 crowd – twice the size of the official ground capacity.
Of the many famous occasions at Wembley Stadium, some particularly stand out. Wembley Stadium was the main venue for the 1948 London Olympics and hosted both the opening and closing ceremony. The 1966 World Cup final saw England become football world champions for the first time, when defeating West Germany 4-2.
In 1985, Wembley Stadium hosted Live Aid, which was a music event organised to raise money for the starving of Ethiopia. Paul McCartney, The Who, David Bowie, Elton John, U2, George Michael and the show’s organisers, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, performed.
Finding a Travelodge hotel in Wembley, London is not difficult and there is one situated just over a mile from Wembley Stadium. Wembley Travelodge has a bar cafe, Wi-Fi facility and chargeable parking.

While there are some people who like to spend their holidays in large cities of Wales such as Cardiff, the capital city, many more prefer getting away from it all in locations such as Brecon Beacons. Here there is a wide range of captivating the beautiful landscape to be enjoyed as well as a National Park that holds attractions for any age group whatsoever. Because there are planned activities and events throughout the season, there is always something to see or do but there is also a place to simply sit back and relax.
One of the reasons why Brecon Beacons is a favorite family holiday destination in Wales is because of the National Park. Throughout the year there are guided walks for any level of fitness and these walks are themed in most cases. Some culminate in high tea whilst others and with a bit of carousing and a taste of local ale. The park itself is renowned amongst families with children because of the famed Dinosaur Park with life-size models of those long-ago creatures that roamed the earth. Children will have fantastic times learning through play and that’s what holidays are all about after all.
Of course there is no camping within the boundaries of the National Trust portion of the park so families are wont to book self catering independent cottages which can be found close at hand. At reasonable prices it is possible to stay quite near the park itself and often within walking distance. As one of the all-time favorite family holiday destinations in Wales remember to book early when planning a holiday in Brecon Beacons as available self catering independent cottages go quite quickly. You just might find that after one trip to South Wales you will be booking independent cottages a year in advance as this enticing part of the UK calls you back year after year.

Visitors from the UK are known to frequent spots in the Mediterranean such as Majorca, especially on holidays during the cold months of winter. Not only is the climate ideal most of the year, there is always something to see and do. From ancient ruins to modern discos, any holidaymaker will have a remarkably good time, when they can finally tear themselves away from idyllic beaches of Puerto Pollensa on the northern coast of the island.
When travelling to Majorca by plane, it takes approximately two to two and a half hours to reach by air which isn’t an awfully long journey. One thing which many Britons don’t often know before departing is that taxis operate a bit differently on Majorca. There is a four passenger limit so when travelling with large groups it is always recommended that you call ahead to make arrangements. This has to do with Majorcan legalities and there is no getting around it because those taxis are only licensed to carry up to four passengers.
The airport you will arrive in when flying to Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, will be Palma which is in the southwest. From there, many people rent cars if they intend to do any amount of sightseeing whilst in Majorca but others prefer to take a coach, minibus or the shuttle service. As mentioned, if taking a taxi the 64km from Palma to Puerto Pollensa, keep in mind that taxis are only licensed to carry four passengers and a limited amount of luggage.
No matter how you travel to the northern tip of the island, once you arrive you will be greeted by some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. People here are much more relaxed than in the capitol of Palma, which is why so many holidaymakers prefer this end of the island. When staying at the Hotel Sis Pins you can spend days on the beach or set out to explore the island, but be assured you will return to world class service and accommodations at the end of the day.

Holidaying in Greece certainly ticks all the right boxes. Whether you’re after some fun in the sun, a taste of ancient history or to explore the traditional tavernas and delicious local cuisine of this diverse destination, you can have it all.
Mainland aside, Greece is home to a sprawling collection of islands – each one beautiful and distinctive in its own right – offering a myriad of holiday experiences that will accommodate even the most stringent of budgets.
Bus best of all, a vacation to Greece needn’t break the bank.
Due to the sheer size of Greece and its many islands, holidaymakers will often find good deals without having to compromise on quality or personal preferences. Often, finding the cheapest price will mean a certain degree of flexibility – such as downgrading your choice of accommodation or opting for a more central resort, as opposed to something off the beaten track. When choosing a package holiday, you might also find cheaper options by flying out of a different airport, or being flexible on departure dates.
But by planning ahead and taking advantage of early bird deals, you can often find just what you’re looking for without paying the full price.
Thomas Cook holiday deals are a great place to start. Here you’ll find a wide range of options and different types of holidays spanning the entire spectrum – from bargain breaks in Crete or last-minute departures to Corfu, to a luxurious spoil-me-rotten holiday in five-star Santorini. You might think this type of upmarket holiday will be out of reach, but even these holidays often come with reductions or special deals such as free upgrades to all-inclusive – so it’s worth taking the time to check.

In these trying economic times, many people feel unable to justify going abroad and staying in a high-calibre hotel with the price tag to match. Perhaps the greatest tragedy of this unfortunate situation is that many of these people do not realise there are more affordable ways to travel.
The two greatest costs associated with most holidays are accommodation and plane tickets. Dodging excessive air fares is much easier than airline operators would like to believe – simply head to a reliable budget airline comparison website, such as skyscanner.net, and search for a cheap flight to your chosen destination. Alternatively, if you are travelling closer to home (to continental Europe from the United Kingdom, for example) you may find that taking a ferry or catching a train will yield substantial savings.
Saving money on accommodation is even easier thanks to Wimdu. Wimdu is a new service that connects individual hosts with guests and offers both parties the security of an official booking on a recognised database. When staying in Wimdu holiday apartments or other private rentals advertised on the website, travellers usually pay less than the cost of a mid-range hotel in the same location, and often have a better experience than if they had stayed at the cheapest available hotel. As an added bonus, there is a range of unusual accommodation available through Wimdu that you might never find elsewhere – the service has featured everything from overnight Christmas stays in a Sussex stable to Valentine’s Day getaways in an inflatable church!
For many people travelling on a budget, visiting a faraway dream destination often seems out of reach. However, by using an intelligent combination of Skyscanner and Wimdu, holidaymakers can often find deals that are almost too good to be true. The savvy holiday shopper who is flexible on travel dates need not dismiss even luxurious furnished holiday stays in Cape Town !

United Kingdom is one of the most beautiful and most loved place for traveling, because of the nice organization and impressive architecture and culture. The capital of UK is London, which is the largest metropolis in the European Union. The city is important industrial, financial and culture center of Europe, as here are situated the headquarters of some of the largest financial institutions of the world. The large buildings and the traditional style are making the city quite interesting and unique. However, the city offers endless opportunities for daily entertainment. London is a city that both refreshes and intimidates, stimulates and irritates, like a dirty board “Monopoly”, surrounded by star sights. London is a cosmopolitan mix of Third and First World, wealthy with drivers and beggars, very proud and stubborn traditionalist avant-garde. In London flows Thames River, above which were built many bridges. The most famous among them is the Tower Bridge, built in the late 19th century fortress Tower of London and hence the name. Other bridges over the Thames in central London are London Bridge, Southwark Bridge and the pedestrian Millennium Bridge. At the heart of London is Soho neighborhood – with its mix of narrow streets and alleys, trendy shops, elegant bars and theaters. Notting Hill – well known from films neighborhood that attracts more visitors. Nevertheless, the district has managed to preserve its eccentric character of a place where people come in pajamas on Sunday to take your newspaper.
